    Susan Johnston, Hope

This is further to the letter, that I send while still in my roll as Mayor of Hope. I want to be sure to confirm, that my position remains unchanged. I absolutely do not support the proposed boundary change. Hope belongs, in my educated opinion to Chilliwack/Hope. We are aligned geographically with Chilliwack, we go to work in Chilliwack, our medical care is directed down the valley as well as other recreation. We are and have been well served by our presents MLA, Laurie Throness. I believe that it would serve no real benefit for us to be changed to Merritt/ Lilloett. We tried that in the past and I can assure you that it did not further benefit Hope. I have lived and worked in Hope for 30 years and have not had occasion to head to Merritt for any of our services. I also lived in Boston Bar so am very familiar with our area in both directions. I clearly see no advantages for a change. I trust that your committee will see the benefit of leaving Hope as status quo. It is my opinion that this endeavour is politically charged. Thank you for your consideration of my request.
