    Rob Howard, Richmond

Dear Commissioners, thank you for this opportunity for input. I write you as the former MLA for Richmond Centre (2009-1013), a former City Councillor for the City Of Richmond (2001-2009) and now a business owner who is developing a senior's home in the proposed new Hamilton High Stree district, and a life long resident of the City of Richmond.

The City of Richmond continues to grow, assisted by international investment especially along the Canada Line Corridor. This population growth sets up an acknowledged need for another Electoral District in Richmond to ensure we don't become disadvantaged by lesser representation per capita than some other areas in the Province.

I write in support of the new proposed Electoral District Boundaries for Richmond, and specifically for the creation of an Electorl District Boundary which will include East Richmond, the Hamilton Area of Richmond and the Queensborough area. By simple geographic proximity the two areas, Hamilton and Queensborough, share many of the same concerns including highway access, access to emergency servicesand schools, flood protection and other 'river' issues, crime prevention and retail services.

I believe by virtue of these 'in common' items that an Electoral District which includes Queensborough and Hamilton combined can offer the two areas more/better service than they might achieve on their own, and would also achieve a certain efficiency from a political point of view.
