    Dagmar Lucak, Hope

    Dear Representatives,

I am writing with great concerns over the possibility of the Greater Hope area being revamped into the Fraser-Nocola Valley district.

This was tried and failed many years ago. Not only are we considered part of the Fraser Valley by several other organized official boundaries, our social ties are also with the lower mainland.

As a Realtor, I am a member of the Chilliwack and District Real Estate Board. Those boundaries go straight through to Boston Bar. I am never asked about homes or land for sale in the Fraser Nicola riding, nor would I want to drive to those areas to represent them. The topography and lifestyles there, in now way reflect in the same ways as in my area.

What happens in Chilliwack Harrison, Kent, Agassiz, has a big impact on the Hope area all the time!

Seldom do I hear of anyone going to Merritt or Princeton to the doctor, shopping, airport, or even social events.

We like it just the way things are. Hope may even become a district of Chilliwack one day! We have no ties with the Fraser-Nicola towns as far as Schools, Medical, Realty, Business,Native Bands etc....

This is of the up most importance for all of us involved, living the life of harmony in the green spaces of the EASTERN FRASER VALLEY. To those Powers that be in Victoria, we are just a pin point on a map. To those in Merritt, Lillooet, Ashcroft, and such, Rainbow Country, such as we are, is the Gateway to the Moderate climated Fraser Valley, and not part of the Desert of Cowboys, cattle ranchers,Sage and extreme heat and cold enjoyed by people of their riding.

You don't find rainbows in the Desert!

    Best regards,.............DagmarLucak
